The appreciation of how things are made is key to an interior designer. Similarly, as a project manager of a marketing campaign, it is important to know the approach and the thinking behind the idea.
So… as part of my continued appreciation and learning of interior designs, i decided to enrol on a course in sewing. I would gain an introductory appreciation on how soft furnishings are made and understand what works and what cannot work. I joined the weekend course at Sew Over it. It was a great introduction- we were immediately thrown into the world of sewing: cutting patterns, threading the sewing machine and using it. I can’t believe how much we learnt in a simple 12 hour course. You can see my little achievements on the photo.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone who would want to know more about soft furnishings. They also do dress-making classes. Maybe i can do that later. My next courses will be curtain and roman blind making! 🙂
